Long-time Green Bay Rotarian Ken Lindemann, left, was inducted into the Century Club by President Paul Kendle. Ken noted that he joined the club in 1969 and now qualifies for the Century Club at age 69. He said the fellowship with his fellow Rotarians has been a driving force behind his continued participation in Rotary. Jim Bowley, left, is genuinely surprised to receive the District Governor’s Outstanding Rotarian Award from District Governor Tom Guyette at our club meeting Dec. 4. Tom is the fourth Green Bay Rotarian to serve as district governor. Jim was the third. Jim continues to serve the club as orientation coordinator and he is active on the planning committee for the district conference that our club will host May 18-20. In his remarks, Guyette characterized Bowley as being his Rotary mentor. Jim Bowley receives a Paul Harris Fellow from District Governor Tom Guyette. Guyette made the presentation on behalf of our club.
Jim Bowley, right, and District Governor Tom Guyette show their Rotary spirit. Jim, who is a past president and past district governor, had just received the Outstanding Rotarian Award and a Paul Harris Fellow. The presentation was made by Tom Guyette, also a past president and now governor of District 6220. The ceremony was held Dec. 4. District Governor Tom Guyette, left, and his wife Carole, second from left, share a moment with Jim Bowley and his wife Carol, far right, following Jim’s being honored by the club and the district on the day, Dec. 4, Tom made his official district governor visit to his home club. Rotarians Jack Le Duc, Julian La Mue, Wendy Franklin, Lowell Franklin, and Larry Sarver & Son were among dozens of Green Bay Rotarians who once again this year rang bell to raise funds for the Salvation Army. It must have helped. It was a record year for the Salvation Army, led by Rotarian (Capt.) David Harvey. And, we wish the Harveys well as they are reassigned to their new mission in South America.
