Members welcomed two outstanding seniors from Green Bay Preble High School. They will rejoin us April 28 for the Rotary Youth Leadership Award luncheon.
A reminder from Diane Dappern that our exchange student's parents will be here April 27-May 3 and she is still looking for hosts if only for an evening.
And a reminder from President-elect David Yeghiaian, who was presiding at the meeting, that the final club social outing to "Almighty Bob" is scheduled for April 24.
Good News moderator Kramer Rock announced that donations to the designated charity, the Volunteer Center, were at $230 through February.
PROGRAM
Patty Mancuso presented her classification talk. After a career in various fundraising capacities, she now works with Libertas, a substance abuse treatment center for adolescents. She also said she grew up the daughter of a Chippewa Falls Rotarian and so is proud to be a member of the Green Bay club.
Past district governor Tom Guyette encouraged members to attend the Rotary District 6220 Conference in Marquette, Mich. in May where the club will have a hospitality suite in preparation for hosting the district conference in 2009.
Tom has also agreed to chair the 2009 conference which will be held to celebrate the year of Tom Friese as district governor. With a Western theme, Rotary Roundup will be May 16-18, 2009 in Green Bay. Among speakers already scheduled, the director of the Rotary Foundation and an incoming Rotary International director.
Tom Guyette was the most recent district governor from the Green Bay club serving the 2000-01 Rotary year.
