About On Broadway Inc.
On Broadway, Inc.
was formed by a grassroots group of business men and women from the Green
Bay community as a not-for-profit redevlopment group to spearhead a comprehensive
revitalization program promoting the redevelopment and preservation of
the near west side of Green Bay.
Since its
inception, the On Broadway organization has been formally sanctioned by
the city of Green Bay. Mayor Paul Jadin appointed a board of directors
and the City Council approved funding totalling $120, 000.00 over a three
year period, which will support approximately one third of the cost of
the program. The remainder of the budget has and must be raised through
contributed monies.
Acceptance
and designation of the Wisconsin Main Street Program has been established
as the first goal of On Broadway, Inc. and the city. The Wisconsin
Main Street Program promotes the economic redevelopment and preservation
of traditional historic business districts like Broadway. It has
fostered the revitalization of downtowns across Wisconsin and helped spur
the creation of more than 700 businesses, nearly 3,900 jobs, and more than
$108 million in reinvestment across the state.
